St Peter's Westleton Repairs & Improvements
'Access for All' Appeal
Every Sunday Hazel came to church until she had to use a zimmer frame. The struggle to get up the drive & then manage her frame over the entrance was too much, and she stopped coming. How many people give up coming to this wonderful 700-year-old village asset? Those who would come to worship, to enjoy the concerts or just to visit, whether using a frame, a wheelchair or even a push chair, it can be too much!
The drive up to the church is in need of repair, the pot holes have increased in depth & frequency. So now is the time to repair it & whilst we are doing this should we not reduce the unnecessary rises & falls, especially two major humps that challenge our mainly older congregation? Should we not provide parking near the entrance for those with disabilities; and what about the 5-inch high entrance step?
We are ready to undertake the work, but of course we need the money, all £37,000. So far our appeal has been very generously supported raising 90% of the target, with work planned to commence in November. Can you help us get to the target? If so, please view our donation document for details on how to donate. Just a little or a bit more, your gifts would be so very much appreciated.
Thank you
Your sincerely
St Peter's Church PCC
