Redisham Hall Garden Visit

Wednesday 4 July 2018

The first Redisham Hall was built around 1205 but the present Georgian house dates from 1820 and was built for John Garden who laid out and landscaped the present gardens and park. The estate is now owned by the Palgrave-Brown family. We entered through the garden centre and onwards though a fine brick arch into a large and well-kept walled kitchen garden. Extensive lawns and flower beds lead to fine views of the park which has many fine specimen trees. Tea and scrumptious cake was served from the old ballroom.

Lark’s Hill Garden Visit

Thursday 24 May 2018

The gardens of eight acres comprise woodland, a newly-planted conifer garden, and formal areas, and fall away from the house to the valley floor. A hill within a garden and in Suffolk at that! It is an interesting and beautiful site which overlooks the gentle Fynn valley and the village beyond. Thirty gardeners came along and the visit was organised by Barbara Clifford.
